Q... Any recent tests done ?

6 years ago very successful heart transplant at UCLA

Dr .Saeed ahmed :

Are you taking some medicine ?

6 YEARS AGO HAD A VERY SUCCESSFUL HEART TRANSPLANT AND TAKE TYPICAL TRANSPLANT MEDS WITH NO PROBLEMS

Dr .Saeed ahmed :

I will give you some suggestions on your blood pressure

Dr .Saeed ahmed :

First we need to make sure that there are multiple reading of same results.

Dr .Saeed ahmed :

One reading is not fit for comments.

Dr .Saeed ahmed :

Your pulse pressure is very high.

Dr .Saeed ahmed :

it is around 75

Dr .Saeed ahmed :

it can be caused by

Dr .Saeed ahmed :

stiffness of the aorta, the largest artery in the body. The stiffness may be due to high blood pressure or fatty deposits on the walls of the arteries

Dr .Saeed ahmed :

It can be due to aortic valve regurgitation

Dr .Saeed ahmed :

other causes are severe iron deficiency (anemia) and overactive thyroid (hyperthyroidism)

Dr .Saeed ahmed :

As you had a heart transplant so most important things we need to rule out are aortic valve problems and atherosclerosis.

Dr .Saeed ahmed :

I would recommend an echocardiogram to see the aortic valve.

Dr .Saeed ahmed :

Also it is class 1 indication for a person with heart transplant to have yearly angiogram to see the coronary arteries for narrowing.

Dr .Saeed ahmed :

Another issue is that your systolic blood pressure is in the initial stage of high blood pressure.

Dr .Saeed ahmed :

So it needs to be lowered. High blood pressure can have a negative impact on the transplanted heart.
