How does weight impact the image of a " CT angio " The cardiologist has indicated that I have a coronary artery aneurysm. I am 78 inches tall and weigh 360 lbsThank You
Hello, Thank you for your question. I will try my best to help you with your questions.
Weight does interferes with the images, mainly two effects are there. As weight is too much so the table is not able to support the weight. so a larger dose of contrast material is given. Also a larger dose of radiation is received by the patient. Images are a big weak with large weight.
Apologies this was not meant to go to you. I will retype my answer for you again.
CT angio tables are not able to lift or support weight more than 300 pounds
so there is an issue if you have more weight.
Most tables are not able to support more than 300 pounds of weight.
A higher dose of radiation is received my the patient if you have high weight.
