Hi, I have a 2005 Mazda 6,2.3 manual, that has 165,000kms on it. A couple of days ago when idling it made a loud noise which is now constant. When driving at higher revs with the manual it sounds almost like a turbo as it winds up then releases slightly when changing gears. In 4th it's almost non-existant then in neutral it is. I would also liken the noise to a truck/diesel sound or also maybe even bearings. It also sounds lilke a loud flow of air through a vent. It doesn't affect performance at all and the airconditioning still works fine. It sounds like it may be coming from the drive belt but not 100% sure. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated :)
