I have a 2003 Mini Cooper (not an S model). Acceleration in 1st sometimes flattens and there is a loss of power -- almost a stall. Then the "check engine" light goes on and the engine runs rough with reduced traction. I usually open the gas filler cap to let air into the fuel system. After that, the light usually goes off and things return to normal.

Any thoughts?

which other less expensive engine (another make maybe) can replace a 2002 Isuzu Axiom XS engine

I have a peugeot 405 srdt diesel On start up from cold it leaks about a cupful of diesel and then this quickly slows down to just dripping . It is not leaking from anywhere near the top of the engine. I have not been underneath to see where it might be from. Any ideas????
