I have a 2006 Porsche Cayman s. It consumes 1 QT in 300 miles. No smoke on start up, No smoke after sitting for 3 days. Runs strong and I have 200 cell sport cat headers. I have NGK Iridium spark plugs and 93k miles. Small amount of exhaust smoke at high revs, then cleans out and no smoke. Lots of soot on the exhaust tips. I changed the spark plugs at 81k and took them to Porsche N Scottsdale and they said they look good. No carbon or oil on plugs to indicate fouling. They told me to change my spark plugs back to OEM and see if that helps. They did not mention a combustion cleaning. They said the fact that I have not smoke at start up except for steam, that the rings and bores are good. They are confused too. I don't know what to do and can't afford a new engine. I documented the oil consumption with PCNA before the warranty expired. What do I do? I'm pulling the spark plugs at 93k and taking them to the dealer. When installing headers air injection ports on cylinder1 were blocked with dry soot. all ex port filled with soot and looked similar. What is causing the oil consumption? Why does it not smoke all the time? Please tell me why it is consuming so much oil, when it didn't until 43 k miles.
