My H2 Hummer displayed a power reduced warning and the vehicle would not go over 30 mph and I thought it was going to cut off as it is running very rough...happened all of a sudden

Is anybody there??

Good morning,

Reduced power messages usually come from one of two issues:

A major electrical issue with the vehicle's computer- this could be rodent damaged wiring, a failed PCM, an internally shorted charging system, etc.

The vehicle is overheating- this could be a stuck closed thermostat or low coolant.

Since its been the coldest this year is it possible coolant did not get in the vehicle when it was serviced?
Expert:  Jared D replied 13 days ago.

It's very possible. I have also seen a handful of vehicles that did not have antifreeze in the coolant. This is common in areas that don't typically get very cold- mechanics or body shops skimp on the antifreeze and the coolant will freeze in the radiator causing the engine to overheat.

Was your heater working when the reduced power message came on?
