Customer Question

Turning the key turns on all of the lights, and I hear a clicking sound. The engine doesn't crank. It's a 2003 BMW 330i. Is the starter bad?
JA: Is the car in "Park" or "Neutral?" Do you know if your car has a "wheel lock" feature?
Customer: It's in Park, and it does have a wheel lock feature. Should I rock the steering wheel back and forth and then try to start it?
JA: Are you fixing your 330i yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: No, I have a mechanic. I haven't tried anything so far, I needed to get to work, so I used another car.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: No, thanks.

When you say there is a click sound- is this a rapid, repeating clicking? Or a 1-click per ignition cycle?
