Customer Question

My check engine light came on today and notices that both gauges for speedometer and rpm jump up and down randomly. Had my alternator changed in March
JA: Does the light stay on solid or does it flicker? Any noticeable performance problems lately?
Customer: Stays on and my airbag light came in as well
JA: What is the make/model/year of your car?
Customer: 2007 Jeep Commander
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I was gonna get the light checked out and see what codes its reading
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?
Customer: Oil changes are up to date and sometimes i feel like it changes gears when i brake but thats rare
JA: OK. Got it. I'm sending you to a secure page on JustAnswer so you can place the $5 fully-refundable deposit now. While you're filling out that form, I'll tell the Mechanic about your situation and then connect you two.

This most likely means your map sensor has failed which is about a $200 job at a shop. Here is information from manual for code, let me know if you have more questions. Thanks.
