Customer Question

2008 lotus elise cooling fans won't come on till coolant sensor is unplugged

Hello unplugging the coolant sensor forces the fan control on all the time and shows that the fans themselves are finebear in mind they won't switch until at least 205 degrees F and onto full speed at 215Fso if they really aren't coming on with temperature then I'd next consider replacing the AC control modulethis is located passenger side front under the access panel near the fuse box (part number YWB 100800).

Dash showed 214 degrees and fans were not on we unplug temp sensor at the rear of the head the fans came on reinstalled plug to sensor and fan stayed on and no temp display at Dash

Hello OK in that case I'd certainly consider replacing the coolant sensor as the 1st step as these are pretty cheap if this doesn't do it then you may need a new AC module
