2001 Land Rover discover II. Just had the ignition coils

Customer Question

2001 Land Rover discover II. Just had the ignition coils replaced. Truck ran fine without any symptoms until yesterday. Crank but no start. I have replaced the crank position sensor in the past for a similar issue. Put an in line ingnition tester on and no spark. Possible bad CPS?

Hi, My name is ***** ***** for the delay.

I will do my best to assist you

how and when did this problem begin?

did the engine light stay on?if so,can you give me the computer trouble codes?

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
The issue began suddenly. The truck was running fine without issues. I parked the truck at the house. I needed to leave again about 20-30 minutes later and it would not start. As stated above, i have had similar issues like this and replaced the crank position sensor. I put an inline ignition tester on and there is no spark. No trouble codes on the computer. No check engine light.

how many miles is on the rover?

Expert:  Tim's Auto Repair replied 10 months ago.

does it give any codes?

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
Approx 120000. As stated previously there are no error codes
Expert:  Tim's Auto Repair replied 10 months ago.

ok,,

sense you get no codes,,the problem could be one of three things

Expert:  Tim's Auto Repair replied 10 months ago.

1-the crank sensor-it may be bad again sometimes you can get a bad new one

2-the coil pack

3- as you say,the cam sensor may be bad

from the way you explain,it sounds as if it is the crank sensor

stand by,i wll upload some info that may help with testing
