My apologies for the delay, thank you for your patience.
Which engine do you have on this Rodeo (3.2, 3.5 etc..)?
do you have the auto transmission, or manual?
2wd or 4wd?
and what exactly is the security problem? (symptoms)
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
3.5 liter automatic transmission four wheel drive. The security light flashing all the time and wont let the engine crank,a friend perform some test and know it barely crank but not enough to start.
Expert:  nabilc replied 1 year ago.
Ok, let's confirm a few details:
so we have the security light flashing
the starter is operating (engine turning), but the engine is not starting
is the central locking working (using the key fob)?
do you have a spare key that you can try?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
The starter only one second swing, yes the central lock is working and I have a extra key
Expert:  nabilc replied 1 year ago.
did you try starting using the second key? as the key might be faulty (the transponder chip inside)?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I tried the other key yes
Expert:  nabilc replied 1 year ago.
Hello,
In this case, the immobilizer system on your vehicle needs resetting and reprogramming using the GM Tech II scan tool.
Do you have access to that (so you can try, before we deem the immobilizer unit faulty)?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I sent the immobilizer and the keys to a company in Baltimore to reprogram before
Expert:  nabilc replied 1 year ago.
And when they came back, the problem persisted?
did you try buying a used set (key, immobilizer unit and engine control module)?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
If you can get me a set for a reasonable price I'll be a happy camper
Expert:  nabilc replied 1 year ago.
I don't have any available.
However, i always check at car-part.com and most of the times i find what i need at great prices. Did you check it out?
