Cadillac Seville STS: I have a 2001 Cadillac Seville STS. I

This answer was rated:

I have a 2001 Cadillac Seville STS. I am aware that this model has a common problem with the 'air mix actuator' and/or 'mode actuator' and I have this problem. The HVAC system does not blow hot air to the driver's side (the car is Right Hand Drive). It works fine on the passenger side. I have run the fault codes on the DTC and I regularly get IPM B1344 History. I also sometimes get IPM B1340 History and SDM B1327 History. I need to know what part I need. Because this is a Cadillac and I am in the UK (very rare in the UK), I really need the ACDelco (or similar) part number so I can order from somehere like Rockauto.com that ships from the USA to the UK. So, (a) is it the 'air mix actuator' or the 'mode actuator' or something other ? (b) which side is at fault ? (c) will the same US-compatible part work in my RHD UK car ? I will also need the fitting instructions if you have them, to give to my local mechanic.

B1344 is for the mode door actuator which controls vents, defrost, and floor. B1340 means Driver's Side Temperature Actuator has failed which would be the "air mix actuator". B1327 refers to a problem with the Dash Integration Module. If your heat isn't working then the drivers side temperature actuator is the main problem. Here is information for each code from manual. Let me know if there is anything else I can do to help. Thanks.

Okay, so I need to replace the drivers side temperature actuator (air mix actuator). As I said, I have to order it from the US. Would it be possible for you to look on www.rockauto.com (or anywhere) and advise me of the Dorman / ACDelco / Standard Motor Products part number I need (as there are a lot of parts on there and the names are confusing). Could you also confirm if that part will work in a RHD Cadillac. Thank you.

The part number I have for right side actuator is 89018365 which would be AC delco brand. It should work in a RHD vehicle but I have no way to confirm it. Let me know if you have more questions, thanks.
I wanted to add part number for left side which would be drivers side in US is 89018365. If you remove the actuator it should have a part number printed on it you can use to order new part. Let me know how it goes or if you have more questions, thanks.

Thank you. You have actually given me the same number for right and left. Is that correct, or is the left side actually 89018375 ? Thanks.

Oops, your right. Sorry about that. Left side "drivers side in US" is 89018375. Let me know if you have more questions. Thanks.
