Suzuki xl7: 2008 XL7 Suzuki. Boss wife lost her only key and

2008 XL7 Suzuki. Boss' wife lost her only key and they had a new one made at dealer. Along with a door only key. Wife tried to crank with door only key before learning the new key. Now it wont learn new key. They were told to cycle the ignition on and off three times for car to learn new key.

Is this the proper procedure to learn a new key?

Does trying door only key cause a problem with learning the new key?
Hello, unfortunately a Suzuki diagnostic scanner is required to relearn the new keys. You can click here to see the procedure. Most dealers will charge a half hours labor to program the keys. Sorry I don't have better news.

1. Insert Key and turn to ON position so you can access Driver Information Center
