I have previously provided this information.

This is a 1998 Chevrolet Cavalier 4 dr sedan LS

It has 142,000 miles

I have taken to dealer 3 times to work on, no effective results.

Battery and starter perform properly, have been checked.

I have tried starting by pumping gas pedal, and by not pumping.

Nothing seems to work, when engine is cold.

Sorry to ask for the information again. It did not show on your post

what has the dealer said about the issue? have they replaced any parts? is the check engine light ever come on?

Customer: replied 3 years ago.

Dealer scanned for trouble code Po171 SET Lean Exhaust

Fuel Filter Restricted and Vacuum hose to Map Sensor Kinked

Fuel Filter Severly Rusted to Fuel Line

Replaced Map Sensor Vacuum Hose

Replaced Fuel Filter

Clear Code from PM Then Road tested.

I observe that Engine Light still comes on most of the time.

I cannot see any improvement for starting from cold engine

consider the system was so severely rusted i would believe you have a fuel related problem here. the fuel in the bottom of the tank is probably very rusty and dirty. the fuel pump is probably not putting out the needed pressure for it to start cold. the fuel pressure needs to be checked and the tank drained and/or replaced and probably the fuel pump also
