this car has the plastic push in self locking retainers correct? nothing in the center of the head on the top of them correct ? they are smooth like this ?

Correct. There really is no way to get a grip on them without destroying them

I know another stupid design

they actually sell a tool for them or a door panel clip tool will work for it

BUT even with the tool they usually stretch and break

any parts store like Napa or Pep Boys sells a bad of them

its almost easier to get under them and cut the heads off and push the center down and just install new ones OR pick up this tool here and see how many you can save
