Mitsubishi Outlander 2.2 DID: Hi,My Outlander 2008 2.2 DID

This answer was rated:

My Outlander 2008 2.2 DID loose its power time-to-time (every 200 Km) when I am on the highway at 2300 RPM; no acceleration steady regime and its happen!
No light on cockpit and when engine switched off and on agian no more problem for a while. Next time one week later maybe.
My reseller is saying it is the EGR valve but I do not belive so.
Saying its full of unburned particules!

My car has 90k KM and the turbo has been replaces in 20111 under guarantee.

I think it is a sensor problem or electronics bug.

Could you help me?

Good morning my name is XXXXX XXXXX I will assist you today

First, I would verify back pressure in the cat converter. The inside may be broken in pieces and clogging the outlet at times.

Make sure the fuel pressure is within specs.

I would start with these basics first.

How to perform these Checks?

Ok, you can rent a fuel pressure tester from a parts store.

You can also get a back pressure gauge from them as well. you remove the downstream O2 sensor and install the gauge.

My problem happen only when I drive on hihghway. Is it not possible to do this test when I am on the highway? The engine has no problem majority of the time.

This test cannot be done on the highway. It is a test that is done in the shop.
