Does it happen all the time?

Yes, but just started yesterday

Good deal,

This should have what's called a throttle body injection system(TBI). It replaces the old carburators. Go to a parts store and buy a can of throttle body spray cleaner and clean the TBI unit real good including the inside. Its best to have it running when cleaning the inside so it doesnt get flooded. This generally takes care of hesitation issues, and at the very least good maintenance.

Also look at the small vacuum hoses for and cracked, disconnected or dry rot. Any vacuum leak will also cause a hesitation.
