Chrysler PT Cruiser Touring: I have a 2007 PT Cruiser. My rear

This answer was rated:

I have a 2007 PT Cruiser. My rear lower brake lights wont turn off with the car and stay on after the alarm has been set. Can I fix this myself or do I have to take it to a shop?

Hello and thank you for using Justanswer. My name is XXXXX XXXXX I will assist you with your Chrysler question.

If you pull up on the brake pedal, do the brake lights turn off?

Customer: replied 3 years ago.

Hi David. No, the lights stay on.

Is there voltage on the Dark Green / White wire at the brake pedal switch at all times?

Customer: replied 3 years ago.

I'm not sure. I don't know where that switch is located.

It is located on the bracket just above the brake pedal arm under the drivers side of the dash. If you are unable to test the wiring at the switch, disconnect the electrical connector at the switch. If the brake lights turn off with the switch disconnected, the switch is shorted and will need to be replaced.
