FixItMan :

Hello, and thank you for allowing me the opportunity to help you. If I am not online when you are, please allow me time to return. Can you tell me what size engine that you have and if this is a manual or automatic transmission?

Customer:

2.4, 4 cyl, 5 speed

FixItMan :

Thank you. How did the transmission oil look?

Customer:

good and clear

FixItMan :

Thank you. If the fluid looks good and the vehicle is making noise then you need to start by checking the hub bearings. It is common for those to fail and vibrate through the drive shafts into the transmission. If the hub bearings are fine then the transmission will need to be rebuilt as you have a bad bearing in it. Typically this is the countershaft bearings.
