Hello! how are you doing today?
Can you see my input?
Yep. Stick with me. I had good luck with same car and your website couple weeks ago finding alternator fuse
I will do my best to help.
Now here's the diagram of the belt
Replacing alt. or serpentine belt. Need diagram for belt. Can loosen top alt. nut. is that all I need to loosen in order to put on ?
The alternator has 2 bolts. one at the top which is the adjuster and one at the bottom which holds the alternator to the engine
you need to loosen both to replace the belt
if you are replacing the alternator you need to remove them both to pull the alternator out.
Are you replacing the alternator or just the belt?
OK. as mentioned someone else stripped bottom bolt. That is really root of problem; alt. belt wears prematurely due to not being secure. I don't have to play with tensioner ?
Thanks; got diagram
This belt has no tensioner. you basically pull the alternator away from the engine to tighten the belt then tighten the top bolt
So loosen the top bolt then push the alternator forward towards the engine then route your new belt then use a pry bar to pry the alternator away from the engine then tighten the 12mm bolt at the bracket for the alternator at the top
that should take care of it
Did you have any other questions for me today?
k. thanks. Im going to go try doing this. If I have trouble can I still access you. Thanks again
You're welcome. A positive rating for my input would be greatly appreciated.
thank you for using justanswer.com let me know if you need further assistance.
Looks pretty easy.; just loosen top bolt which I already have done.
you will have to push the alternator by force towards the engine because the pivot point it tight with the bottom bolt
will do; thanks again
