I have a 67 Plymouth fury 318 2bbl,it cranks fine by pulls the gas out of filter shuts off and the fuel filter will fill up when car is not running? WTH?

Canuck Tech :

hi there - i don't quite understand your question...

Canuck Tech :

the fuel filter will fill up when the car isn't running... does it flood the engine?

Canuck Tech :

Does the engine run?

Customer:

no it seems to run out of gas in the carb

Canuck Tech :

have you tried running the engine with the gas cap off?

Customer:

no I haven't,what would that do,the new tank has two vents under the car

Canuck Tech :

I'm wondering about the venting... you have covered the bases, it would seem... there is no logical reason that there should be a shortage of fuel at the carb, unless the pump is faulty, or the tank is being drawn into a vacuum

Customer:

do you think the old hoses to the vents might be stopped up

Customer:

brand new pump

Canuck Tech :

Possibly... she's an oldie but a goodie...

Canuck Tech :

try the gas cap trick

Customer:

ok will do thanks

Canuck Tech :

could you let me know what happens?

Customer:

sure will,need email

Canuck Tech :

you can just go through just answer that would be best. You don't need to close up the question until will have the results you need
