No problem Loren, I just wanted to make sure I didn't recommend doing anything that was already done. This code indicates the camshaft timing advance is incorrect and can be caused by the variable timing system. I would first make sure oil level is correct and clean, if not replace the oil. If oil level is clean remove the variable valve timing oil control solenoid valve and inspect it for debris that may cause it to stick intermittently. Here are also testing instructions from the manual. Let me know if you have questions or if there is anything else I can do to help. Thanks.

yes. Ichnge the oil, filter spark plugs and the code come back. where the variable valve timing oil control solenoid is located?

Expert:  Dan replied 1 year ago.
It is located under the valve cover, there is one for each side. There are no pictures available but once you have valve covers removed you will see solenoid with wires going to it. Let me know how it goes or if you run into questions. Thanks Loren.

hi. i ready take of the valve cover and theres nothing in therer???

Expert:  Dan replied 1 year ago.

They are below the valve covers and removing them make it easier to access. If you look next to valve cover you will see a sensor looking thing on each side. One side has a red/green and purple wire going to it the other side has a red/green and orange wire going to it. Here are a few pictures behind timing cover, let me know if your able to find it. Thanks.

The E50 connector is the one that connects to solenoid, here are some pictures.

Hi. is there any way to test the oil control valve. I remove them can you help me to test them/

Expert:  Dan replied 1 year ago.
There is no way to test besides the resistance test which will not tell you if it is sticking. You could try to jump power/ground to it a few times to see if you can make it act up. Let me know how it goes or if you run into questions, thanks Loren.

ok ifoud the problem thank you very much. but what is the stimate to change the time belt and the oil timeing control valve #1 & #2 ?

Expert:  Dan replied 1 year ago.
The timing belt is a 3.2 hour job book rate and about $80 for belt so around $400. The timing actuator is a 2.2 hour job to replace but that much time shouldn't be added since most of the work is already don't during timing belt replacement, maybe a hour added. Each actuator is $150 so your looking at another $400 bringing total to around $800. Let me know if you have questions or if there is anything else I can do to help. Thanks.
