Corolla: Driving down the road, the power sunroof opened on

This answer was rated:

Driving down the road, the power sunroof opened on it's own to the vent position. It is now stuck and will neither open all the way or close. Is this something I can fix myself (average mechanic) and if so, how?
1997 Toyota Corolla, Power Sunroof
Hi. Sounds like the switch for the sunroof is broken. To try and fix yourself, I would recommend removing the switch and disconnecting it. Once disconnected, you could try to jump the wires of the connector to get the roof to close. You can disassemble the switch and see if you can repair it or find worn out contacts. Thanks, Eric
