yes as long as the battery light is on if you cycle key a few times and battery light stays off runs fine no trouble shooting in my computer for this

SYMPTOM
P1478 - BATTERY TEMP SENSOR VOLTS OUT OF LIMIT

WHEN MONITORED
Ignition on.

SET CONDITION
The Battery Temperature Sensor, internal to the PCM, goes above 4.9 volts or below 0.1 volt for more than 3.2 seconds.

POSSIBLE CAUSES
- PCM

Customer:

i know voltage stays constant at 13.9 load or no load and dont spike at all.

SYMPTOM
P0118 - ECT SENSOR VOLTAGE TOO HIGH

WHEN MONITORED
With the ignition on. Battery voltage greater than 10.4 volts.

SET CONDITION
The Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor circuit voltage at the PCM is greater than 4.96 volts for more than 2.6 seconds.

POSSIBLE CAUSES
- ECT sensor voltage above 4.6 Volts
- (K2) ECT sensor signal circuit shorted to battery voltage
- ECT sensor internal failure
- (K2) ECT sensor signal circuit open
- -(K900) sensor ground circuit open
- PCM
