issuz forklift: Hyster forklift, Isuzu diesel, hours 2200 engine

This answer was rated:

Hyster forklift, Isuzu diesel, hours 2200 engine has a nock, it is not a injector, had that checked.
Sounds like it is in first or second cylinder. The nock is there speed up and slow down.
I,m told if it is a wrist pin it would nock under accelation and not when throttle is backed off.
could it be in top end, lifter, push rod, valve ?
bad crank bearing ? How can we tell?
Any ideals ?

hi, my name is XXXXX XXXXX i'll be happy to help you with this today.

Auto Psychic :

because its a diesel poor compression in that cylinder could also cause a knock, basically the same thing as a bad injector.

Auto Psychic :

wrist pins and main bearing tend not to cause knocks.

Auto Psychic :

rod bearing do.

Auto Psychic :

a bad injection pump is also a possibility.

Auto Psychic :

if you crank #1 and #2 injections lines does it go away?

Auto Psychic :

gary

Customer:

no when you crack the injector (1&2) there is still a nock

Customer:

We have it in a shop now, they will pull valve cover off, and check the nock. Maybe in the valve assemble ?

Customer:

then they will look at the bottom end. (crank & bearings) . Got any ideal cost of a reman. short block?

Customer:

The lift (hydraulics, transmission, paint etc. is in good shape) I bought it right and can afford to put some$$ in it.

Customer:

The lift is not big, single front tires, 4000 lb lift. Also with a nock, there's lack of pulling power.

your valve assemblies will cause a rattle more than a knock.
you most likely have a bad rod bearing.
