2004 gmc slt extended cabXXXXX5.3 v8 automatic climate controls for driver and seperate one for passenger
Hi,

Ok, yours has a separate temperature blend door for the driver's side and for the passenger side. The doors are controlled by a electronic door actuator which receives its signal from the climate control unit at the dash.

the temperature changing randomly from cold to heat on one side is due to the actuator switching the door back and forth due to faulty signals from the climate control unit, which means that it will likely need to be replaced. You can try a reset on the control unit by disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes. If it continues happening after the reset, then replace the control unit
