Land Rover Freelander SE3: My 2003 Land Rover Freelander uses

This answer was rated:

My 2003 Land Rover Freelander uses synthetic oil, but is burning about 1 quart every 500 miles or so. Can I just add regular motor oil back since it is cheaper?
Thanks for trusting us with your problem. I have trained in the automotive field and currently work as a lead technician. I will be helping you today

Yes it is perfectly safe to switch back to regular motor oil.

This will also run thicker which should lose less amounts of oil.

Hope this helps. Thanks
