1994 3.2L v-6 ran hot this mourning. no leaks, full of coolant. let cool down then drove 1 mile then motor shut off. timing belt cover on one side broke, exposing timing belt pulley.the belt was not broke but frayed and heat damage from rubbing timing belt cover.what happened? and do i have valve/head damage? thanks john
Optional Information: Make: Isuzu Model: rodeo Year: 1994 Already Tried: nothing. thinking about changing the timing belt.
Most likely the water pump seized up, this would run hot and also damage the timing belt. That engine will occasionally have valve damage when the timing belt fails. Either do a leakdown while the belt is off or a compression test after the belt is replaced.
