sgm11155 :

hi i am shannon i will help on this issue

sgm11155 :

dose it shift ok after it warms up?

sgm11155 :

if it dose you most likely have hardening seals in the trans.

sgm11155 :

some times this can happen if the trans gets over heated

sgm11155 :

or if the fluid has not been serviced

sgm11155 :

the repair is to have the transmission overhauled

sgm11155 :

but i would try a chemical repair first.

sgm11155 :

i like Seafoam trans chemical

sgm11155 :

add the can to the trans fluid drive for 20 miles

sgm11155 :

then let sit over night

sgm11155 :

test drive in the morning if the shifting has returned to normal then have the trans fluid flushed out

sgm11155 :

be sure at lest 12 quarts of fluid has been replaced. if the filter has not been done this would be a good time to service it too.

sgm11155 :

then put 1/2 a can of the Seafoam in the fluid to keep the seals soft.

forced shifter into gear and drove car trans work fine shifted fine and could tell no problems with trans itself. Could shift release lock be stuck, fuse, something electric
Expert:  sgm11155 replied 4 years ago.
it now sounds like you may be having a problem with the shift linkage and or safety lock out.let me get you a diagram of the lockout system if i can find it .it will take a few.
Expert:  sgm11155 replied 4 years ago.
