1995 Buick regal: overheating..Replaced thermostat, checked water pump

1995 Buick Regal 3.1. Engine overheating. Replaced thermostat, checked water pump - seems to move freely. Water vapor coming through small black tube to air intake connection from air intake to the damper just above the radiator hose connection on the engine - where the thermostat is. Coolant loss is significant over @XXXXX Heat guage spikes up to red section.
