2000 vw jetta: p0748 pressure control solenoid..high gear..limp mode

2000 vw jetta code p0748 pressure control solenoid. transmission seems to work until shifting into high gear then shifts down and seems to go into limp mode.where is this pressure contorl solenoid and could this be the promblem

It is in the valve body, it is possible it is the problem but there is no way to know without a diagnostic to check the solenoids as follows.

Solenoid Valves In Valve Body, Checking

Recommended special tools and equipment
- V.A.G 1526 multimeter or V.A.G 1715 multimeter
- V.A.G 1594 connector test kit
- Wiring diagram

Requirements
- Respective fuses must be OK.
- Selector lever must be in -P- position.
- All electrical consumers such as, lights and rear window defroster must be switched off.
- Parking brake must be engaged.
- Ground (GND) connections to transmission must be OK.
- Ignition switched off.

Work sequence
- Disconnect 12-pin harness connector at transmission.
Observe safety precautions.

- Check harness connector for contact corrosion and ingress of water.

If harness connector is not OK.
- Repair malfunction.
- Erase DTC memory of Transmission Control Module (TCM), Diagnostic mode 4: Reset/erase diagnostic data.

If harness connector is OK.
- Check resistance of solenoid valves.

Checking resistance of solenoid valves
- Re-connect 12-pin connector.
- Connect test box to control module wiring harness, connect test box for wiring test.
- Measure resistance of solenoid valves at test box between sockets:

NOTE: Resistance value is valid at approx. 20 degrees C. At higher temperatures, resistance value increases.

If one of the specified values is not obtained.
- Check wires to Transmission Control Module (TCM) according to wiring diagram.

- Check wires between test box and 12-pin connector to Transmission Control Module (TCM) for open circuit according to wiring diagram.

Wire resistance: max. 1.5 Ohms

- Check wires for short circuit to each other.

Specified value: Infinite Ohms

If no malfunctions are found in wires.
- Replace circuit board or valve body:
- Erase DTC memory of Transmission Control Module (TCM), Diagnostic mode 4: Reset/erase diagnostic data.
