Which engine does it have?
2.0 liter
It is in the valve body, it is possible it is the problem but there is no way to know without a diagnostic to check the solenoids as follows.
Solenoid Valves In Valve Body, CheckingRecommended special tools and equipment - V.A.G 1526 multimeter or V.A.G 1715 multimeter - V.A.G 1594 connector test kit - Wiring diagramRequirements - Respective fuses must be OK. - Selector lever must be in -P- position. - All electrical consumers such as, lights and rear window defroster must be switched off. - Parking brake must be engaged. - Ground (GND) connections to transmission must be OK. - Ignition switched off.Work sequence - Disconnect 12-pin harness connector at transmission. Observe safety precautions. - Check harness connector for contact corrosion and ingress of water. If harness connector is not OK. - Repair malfunction. - Erase DTC memory of Transmission Control Module (TCM), Diagnostic mode 4: Reset/erase diagnostic data. If harness connector is OK. - Check resistance of solenoid valves.Checking resistance of solenoid valves - Re-connect 12-pin connector. - Connect test box to control module wiring harness, connect test box for wiring test. - Measure resistance of solenoid valves at test box between sockets:
Attachments are only available to registered users.
NOTE: Resistance value is valid at approx. 20 degrees C. At higher temperatures, resistance value increases. If one of the specified values is not obtained. - Check wires to Transmission Control Module (TCM) according to wiring diagram.Checking wires to Transmission Control Module (TCM) - Checking wires to Transmission Control Module (TCM)
- Check wires between test box and 12-pin connector to Transmission Control Module (TCM) for open circuit according to wiring diagram. Wire resistance: max. 1.5 Ohms
- Check wires for short circuit to each other. Specified value: Infinite OhmsIf no malfunctions are found in wires. - Replace circuit board or valve body: - Erase DTC memory of Transmission Control Module (TCM), Diagnostic mode 4: Reset/erase diagnostic data.
