The two codes were pulled before this problem. The engine is running too poorly to get the vehicle to Autozone to pull new codes
At first the vehicle ran rough at idle, now it will not idle at all. In order to drive the vehicle, I have to get it above 3k rpms.
it was running fine before washing it
checked the coil modules on the top of the motor, have not checked the distributor
not sure where to check for the distributor
looking at the back of the cam at what should be the distributor
pulling the cover off now
ok, trying to pull the cover off
not much for tools here, I am 3 hours from home
I have electrical contact spray also
still trying to remove the cover
have to buy a small screwdriver
It was the cam position sensor. There was no evidence of water inside and it does not run better after removing it and cleaning the inside.
so you changed the cam sensor?
no, just checked for water and cleaned inside the cover
it was clean with no water
Obviously you don't know the specific code?
no, I cant get it to the shop to check it
this model does not have a distributor
or traditional coil
the coils module is at each spark plug
It's a coil on plug
i'm going to my database hold on
This is diagram for the ignition system
ck #4 ignitor
the image isn't coming up
looking for the ignitor
I'm about to give some procedure to check other component
I need you to do the spark plug test and fuel injector test if you can
I can't pull the images up
is checking the spark plug just like testing on a more traditional engine?
pull the plug, connect the cable, and ground it?
check for spark?
If is good condition then check fuel
just check #4?
but most likely is the spark
i am positive is the ignition system
I have to go buy more tools to pull the plug
it is 2200, so it will be tomorrow morning
are you on the road?
going to stay at a friends house
sorry to hear that
and work on it in the morning
should I click accept?
Thank you sir
I clicked accept and then it took me away from chat
I have two suggestions for you.
Why not buy yourself a obd2 scanner
a cheap one cost $50
any suggestions about which one?
Where is near autozone or advance auto?
not too far
I am in Houston at the moment
ACTRON is the brand
i just check
Its better then replacing the wrong part and waste so much of your time.
Tomorrow morning run the code and update me.
it is in stock at the nearest Autozone
I will get it in the morning
Call them first, they should have one.
I will do so
We will fix it together tomorrow.
Have a good night.
how do I get in touch with you if I finalize and accept?
The coil on plug shorted out and you will need to replace it.
Also replace the spark plug with NGK BKR6E.
Use a voltmeter to check the voltage output.
P0123 Throttle Pedal position sensor A circuit high input - The TP sensor output voltage should be > 4.8V
P0122 Throttle Pedal position sensor A circuit low input - TP sensor output voltage < 0.1V
P0102 Mass or volume Air Flow A circuit low input - Should be less than 0.3V MAF sensor output voltage continues for 1 sec.P0113 Intake Air Temperature sensor 1 circuit high input - IAT sensor output voltage > 5.0VP0136 Oxygen Sensor circuit bank 1 sensor (see P2270, P2271) - We knew the 02 sensor is already damaged.P0134 Oxygen Sensor Circuit no activity detected bank 1 sensor 1P0302 cylinder 2 misfire detected - Check the COP.P0136 same code as aboveP0134 same code as aboveP0302 same code as above
Check all the recommendation I have gave you. A voltmeter will be very helpful for this procedure.
I am hoping is not ECU.
Disconnect throttle position sensor connector from vehicle harness and measure resistance at connector of throttle position sensor. At closed throttle:Terminals 1-4 resistance value: 4.25-8.25 kohms Terminals 2-4 resistance value: 0.3-6.3 kohms At full throttle:Terminals 2-4 resistance value: 3.5-10.3 kohms CAUTION: Perform this inspection with engine stopped after it has been warmed up.
Now the vehicle does not start at all.
Are you getting 12.6 V or above at the battery? If yes, check your starter. Do you know how to check the starter?
Do you have a Maual transmission? If yes, check clutch pedal switch.
The diagram is showing 3 terminals. Remember you have to Disconnect throttle position sensor connector from vehicle harness.
Noted #2 and #3 is the middle terminal.
Let me know if you need anything else. Like diagram and schematic.
