coolant sitting in exhaust port after large amounts of white smoke engine runs very smooth
Optional Information: Make: GeneralMotors Model: au Year: 1998 Already Tried: Have a jackaroo 3.0 turbo removed turbo exhaust manifold pressure tested cooling system coolant slow stream from number 4 exhaust port after blowing heaps of white smoke
The coolant is leaking into the exhaust area rather then the combustion chamber, that explains why the engine runs smooth while still blowing white out the exhaust. An internal crack in the cylinder head is the cause of this. I have had some good results curing this type problem using the coolant sealing pellets that you can get at a GM dealer parts department, or the pellets made by Barrs products that should be available at most auto supply stores.
