I am looking at a used 2010 ford taurus limited. It has 23,500 miles. What can you tell me about this car. An individual has it. In good condition, an elderly lady owned it. Asking price is $22,500.
Optional Information: Make: Ford Model: taurus limited Year: 2010
I would not recommend getting this car. Some transmission equipped with a 6F50 or 6F55 transmissions may intermittently exhibit slipping/neutral out.
The transmission maybe something you will need to be aware of.
Why not try another model.
My database is showing many drivetrain issues for that year.
Thank you so much. i appreciate your honesty. Are there any particular cars you think are outstanding in their class? They don't necessarily need to be american made.
Reliability is a key factor in my selection.
Ok, I have three vehicles for your request.
1. 2012 Hyundai sonata - It has a 10 years , 100K powertrain warranty
starting at 19,800
2. 2012 Toyota Rav4 with the 4 cylinders.
3. hyundai elantra 2012 - It has the same 10 years powertrain warranty
40 mpg and starting at 16,900.
4. Also the Toyota camry is reliable too. Starting at 21k.
Toyota has a complimentary worry-free maintenance plan [1] and roadside assistance with the purchase or lease of every new Toyota. For 2 years or 25,000 miles, whichever comes first, you and your new vehicle will be covered. It's complimentary package.
Thank you very much. I have looked at the Hyundai Genesis. I also looked at a Lexus IS. I was told by a friend that Lexus if a fancy toyota with leather. BMW 335xi was another car i looked at during my shopping. Any thoughts ?
Ok, so you're looking for an entry level luxury car.
The Lexus IS350 is not just a fancy Toyota. The IS is sportier and much better built than the Toyota lineup. Keep in mind the IS interior space is small. Therefore if you’re 6 feet tall you won’t be comfortable. Overall the Lexus IS250 or IS350 is a pure enjoyment to drive. The reliability is also very good.
The BMW or Genesis?
For the BMW - I would make sure you get a warranty on it.
Some 2011 below 335 have electric problems
E90, E91, E92, E93 (3 Series)
Vehicles produced from 2/28/2007 to 5/30/2011
The vehicle electrical system fails completely and one or more of the following faults may occur
You should get the 2012 model for the warranty
Overall the BMW is a great car.
What does E90,E92 etc mean?
chassis number
I was looking at a new BMW 2011. I assume the warranty would come with that?
E92 stands for 328xi coupe
For the Genesis , are you looking for the 6 or the 8 cylinders
?
6
for gas mileage
I'm getting you info for the Genesis, give me a minute.
Experience: I've been working with automotive industry for almost 20 years. I also have an engineering background. Saving one car at a time.
I will check back after I return from work for your reply. Thanks ever so much :)
For the Genesis - I don't see major problem with this vehicle. The 10 years and 100K is very attractive.
Covers repair or replacement of powertrain components (i.e., selected engine and transmission/transaxle components), originally manufactured or installed by Hyundai that are defective in material or factory workmanship, under normal use and maintenance. Coverage applies to original owner only.
The two cars have different personality.
335xi- Sporty, firm ride, luxury, young, sharp, all wheel drive and firm.
Genesis - Luxury feel, 7 speed transmission (Gas saving), middle age, rear wheel drive only and the 10 yrs warranty.
You can't go wrong with these two cars.
The new BMW is covered by a limited warranty for defects in materials or workmanship for the first four years or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first.
I like the 330xi better because of the look and sporty.
Good luck and thank you for the inquiry.
Thanks again for all your research.
