Hello my name isXXXXX the clunking in the rear end is a normal condition when the overdrive light flashes, when the light flashes it means there a code(s) stored in the computer identifying a fault in the trans control system and the line pressure goes high. It could be a sensor or wiring or internal fault inside the trans, a test on the vehicles computer will help pinpoint where to start. I have seen quite a few valve body gasket concerns on these vehicles, but a test on the computer should be done first to see what is revealed. Any more questions just ask, thanks Steve W
