This answer was rated:

I am purchasing a 1998 550 Maranello and wanted to know what is a good synthetic brand of oil should I use and number of quarts and what is a good oil filter to go along with an oil change?
Hello, I'm Jason.
I will do my best to answer your question quickly and accurately using the information you have provided.

I will only recommend either OEM Ferrari oil filters, or this kit here: http://www.ricambiamerica.com/product_info.php?cPath=75&products_id=200&osCsid=mh2coc9m5hn39ulrl4ubia3505

It takes a bit more than 11 liters of oil.

And these are the only recommended oils:
Red Line 5W-40
Penn Ultra Synthetic 5W-40
Shell Helix Ultra 5W-40

I personally prefer the Shell
