if the carwas bought as is.....
the dealer may not be responsible
Would you recommend repairing the transmission vs trading it in and getting a new car? The dealer offered $3000 trade on a new car
you will need to talk to your local lawer or to one on this site,,,there may be some type of lemon law in your state........i am a mechanic
these are kids just starting out.. they don't need a big car bill
to rebuild the transmission will cost around $1500-$2200+/-
depending on the shop
if it s nice
here in Hawaii they are saying 3-3500
it may be worth the fix
that is high$$$$$
should I check the junk yards for a used ne first?
maybe an independend trans shop would be much cheaper
I KNOW! WELCOME to Paradise
you may be able to buy one from your local salvage yard for around $700-$1000
I got a quote from another person who a a friend knows they said $2000.. I think they work out of their house.. probably no warranty
the $2000 isnt too bad
first thinkg Monday I will ask the Junkyard Dogs if they have a low mileage trainy (sp)
yes..this would be what to do..in your case
also,,check other trans shops
I just looked there is a lemon law..I'll check the statues..I just don't want the kids stuck..it's my son's wife's truck ... she had to have it though I asked them not to buy it... it was like her dads..except it is automatic and he can work on it because of the special tool it takes to change the fluid...
okay will do.. thanks for your help...
you are very welcome
