Sound coming..the left front tire hits a rut or bump on the road

Resolved Question:

I own a 2007 Maserati Quatroporte, I hear a thumping sound coming from the left side of the car whenever the left front tire hits a rut or bump on the road. What is causing this unusual noise?

There are a number of things that can causing a noise when going over bumps so a little detective work is needed here..

Loose or worn steering and suspension components are at the top of the list, so you will need to have your tie rods and suspension joints checked for play or looseness.

Tie rods and ball joints are the 2 most common issues for this type of noise.

I hope this information is helpful and let me know if you need further assistance with this.
