i WILL ASSIST YOU,
You should first inspect universal joints in driveshaft,
The second most likely is the pinion bearing ,
None of these are very expensive,
How do I determine for sure which is the issue?
Are there any tests etc.
I could do/
The only sure way is visual and physical inspection,
To check universal joints you need to have vehicle on lift,
Most all service centers that do brakes, tires and oil change can handle the inspection
what are the symptoms if I have complete failure of either of those components?
The vehicle will not be driveable, and probably damage transmission if joints completely fail,
The pinion bearing failure will damage rear-end,
Are these common issues in Rangerovers?
They are serviceable by grease fittings,
It depends on the service, just like oil change
