does it have any gears?reverse?

how many miles is on the car?

please explain to me how and when this problem began

Customer: replied 4 years ago.
The car has 149,000 miles on it. None of the gears work including reverse. It happened spontaneously while driving, nothing load or violent. It felt exactly like the time my wife accidentally knocked it into neatral a long time ago. The engine sounds normal, it just doesn't seem to be engaging the transmission. I don't think the check engine code had anything to do with it since its been on for a long time. Its been running decent till now, the transmission hasn't seemed to be slipping or anything. Thanks Jeremy

Expert:  Tim's Auto Repair replied 4 years ago.

this isnt good

something has let go in the transmission here.perhaps the rear band or a broken hard part...i would think it will need to be rebuilt or replaced...sorry

Customer: replied 4 years ago.
Would those make a noise when it happened, is there no way its something electrical. what do think the ballpark figures to rebuild or replace would be?
Expert:  Tim's Auto Repair replied 4 years ago.

i dont think it is electrical here.........

no..this may not make a noise,,most times

this may cost as much as $2000+/- to have a trans shop rebuild may consider buying one from a salvage yard
