hi

sgm11155 :

have you set the choke opening yet?

the way to test for this is to manualy open the choke just a little

Customer:

is there a chocke relay?

sgm11155 :

yes there may be i.ll have to look it up

sgm11155 :

but if it runs bad when you first start it up that will not be the problem

Customer:

why would make the chock get stuck?

Customer:

sgm11155 :

the choke heater relay will heat up the choke andto open it after 30 secounds

sgm11155 :

first the choke is opening if it run ok after warming up

sgm11155 :

i need to know how it runs you first start the engine

Customer:

but it takes too long. some times i have to run like 20miles and then smooths up.

sgm11155 :

ok can you start the engine and hold the choke open just enough to idle good?

sgm11155 :

if so then you will need to look at the vacuum pod

sgm11155 :

there should be a vacuum pod that opens the chock just after the engine starts

Customer:

yes. what is the vacuum pod

sgm11155 :

it is on the choke linkage it round and has a vacuum line to it

sgm11155 :

there is a screw in the center of it

sgm11155 :

that screw adjust the choke opening after the engine starts

Customer:

ok i know now.

sgm11155 :

you need to see how mush choke opening makes the engine run smoth then adjust the screw to open the chock when running

sgm11155 :

do this with the engine running

Customer:

ok. this for auto chocke?

sgm11155 :

you will see the choke open as you adjust the screw

sgm11155 :

yes

sgm11155 :

the instruction

Customer:

ok. i will do this tomorrow morning and i will get back to you.

sgm11155 :

s for adjusting should have came with the new carb

Customer:

ok. thank you. i will let you know what happened

sgm11155 :

the instruction for adjusting the choke should have came with the new carb

sgm11155 :

please find that paper

Customer:

the shop did it.

Customer:

the shop put it in. they got the carb.

sgm11155 :

the shop should adjust the carb right for free it part of the install

sgm11155 :

i would take it back

sgm11155 :

make them do it

sgm11155 :

unless you no longer trust them

Customer:

they told me they couldn't do more. they said they couldn't fix it.

Customer:

i don't want to pay them just to do that. i don't trust them no more

sgm11155 :

that,s very bad if they can,y adjust a choke or if the carb is defitive it there resopnablity to make it right

Customer:

i know. but i would like to try myself to learn about this carburator.

sgm11155 :

you may want to get the recpit for the carb incace you need to return it to the parts store

Customer:

you are right i will do that.

sgm11155 :

i will do my best to help teach you but its some times hard to diagnoice a problem without seeing it

HI. I WAS GOING TO DO WHAT YOU TOLD ME BUT I DID THE OIL CHANGE FIRST AND NOTICE THAT WHEN I STARTED THE CAR THE OIL LEVEL DOESN'T GO DOWN AND THE ROCKER ARMS ARE MAKING TOO MUCH NOISE. DOES THIS MEAN THE OIL PUMP IS NOT WORKING?
