1995 Rodeo: which the cruise control circuit cuts out..intermittently

Customer Question

I have a 1995 Rodeo in which the cruise control circuit cuts out. It is fuse CB-12. This happens intermittently. I placed a circuit breaker in it to test. The breaker will start to "flicker" only when the vehicle is in 3rd, 4th, or 5th gear. If I push in the clutch pedal it will stop or if I pull the shift lever out of gear. Applying the breaks does not seem to make any difference. This happens even when I disconect the main cruise switch and the cruise control unit at the engine. (The cruise control works just fine until the circuit cuts out)What might be the problem?
