This engine has a normal rate of oil consumption of 1 qt in 3200 miles. so if the oil loss is within that rate this is considered normal s per GM.

This engine is also known for leaks at the rear oil cover, and the oil pressure sensor.if the oil loss is more than the normal rate I would have it checked out for those tow areas you may not be able to see the leak a GM tech will know were to look.
