Welcome to Just Answer, these valves can stick more if for example the engine is using a bit of oil the carbon will stick to the valve pintle causing P0400.

I advise you to take your car to a Vauxhall dealer who will be able to do away with the valve by re-mapping the ECU so preventing further faults , only dealers have the kit and software for this job.

I hope this helps , best regards XXXXX XXXXX

my car has only done 56k and is not using oil at all i have been told i can blank the port off and that would do the trick on the egr valve ,but how much is it to get re-mapped
Expert:  vauxdoc replied 5 years ago.
Blanking the valve goes with the remap job and cost around 1 hour labour at whatever the particular garage charges £65-£100 .

Just blanking the valve can cure rough running related to a valve fault but the annoying light will still come on.
