2000 honda: new ignition...problem......said needs new head gasket

Resolved Question:

I have a 2000 Honda CRV...stalls for a minute or so...then starts put in new ignition...problem not solved....said needs new head gasket....what do you think?

I'd 1st try a head gasket / block test kit as these take a coolant sample and analyse it for any signs of combustion gas - if present this would indicate the head gasket is on its way out

this will confirm if a gasket is needed or not

if this is OK then I'd investigate getting the fuel pressure checked as if this is low due to a blocked filter or faulty regulator or even a poorly pump will all result in insufficient fuel being delivered to the engine
