This usually means a cylinder has low compression causing fuel to go unburned into the oil, injector sticking open causing too much fuel, or a problem with weak spark allowing coolant go go into oil....So you will need to test all of those one at a time and if check engine light is on have diagnostic codes checked incase it indicates a problem. Engine coolant temp sensor and oxygen sensors can also cause similiar issues.
