This answer was rated:

I'm trying to check a vss sensor with My volt meter does anyone know the specs. Its a freighliner cummins isb-07 with allison 1000 series and meritor ms 10-113 abs
Vin# XXXXX 8 are 8caa8332.
The odometer is inop

if the sensor is 2 wire type then you can check its working with an AC voltmeter - providing the gearbox is turing over you should get a voltage signal that increases with rpm
