Can you hear the fuel pump run for 1-2 seconds when you turn the key on? It may be your fuel pump. Put your ear to the fuel fill tube with the cap off and see if you can hear the pump while someone turns the key on for you.

0KAY, BUT WOULD THAT CAUSE A LOSS OF POWER WHILE IN TRANSIT?

Expert:  Neal replied 5 years ago.
It could.
Customer: replied 5 years ago.
SINCE I JUST HAD A NEW BATTERY INSTALLED, WOULDN'T THAT HAVE BEEN NOTED? IT WASN'T. ALTHOUGH THERE IS A COPPER WIRE STRETCHED ACROSS THE BATTERY AND ATTACHED TO THE POSITIVE POST. THIS WIRE IS UNCOVERED-BARE.
Expert:  Neal replied 5 years ago.
That is not correct. There should not be a bare wire on the positive side. That should be disconnected right away. then charge the battery and see if it will start.
