My name is Dale.
I will look in the databases and see if I can find the procedure for you.
I will be back.
OK, First of all "Happy New Year",
I have found a script and some diagrams to remove and replace the entire liftgate which should cover replacing the latch. The file are being presented to you in "Adobe PDF Format" for your convenience and printing ability.
I am going to post all the links to all the diagrams and pictures first and then post the script that corresponds to the diagrams and pictures.
Disconnect the negative battery cable.
Open the liftgate and support it securely.
Use a suitable support tool, such as this safety stand (used here with a blanket to avoid scratches) to support the liftgate in the open position
Remove the right and left side window garnish moldings.
Remove the liftgate trim finish panel.
Unplug the electrical connectors from the following components:
Liftgate ajar switch
License plate lamp
Window release actuator harness connector.
Use a small pry tool to carefully pry out and remove the strut retaining clip. Pull the end of the strut from the stud.
Unfasten the shoulder bolt securing the upper end of the strut to the strut bracket.
With the aid of a helper, remove the liftgate hinge bolts and remove the liftgate assembly.
Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
Open the liftgate and remove the speaker grilles.
Remove the liftgate trim finish panel as outlined earlier in this section.
Unfasten the bolts attaching the lock assembly to the inner door panel, then remove the lock assembly through the access hole.
Detach the electrical connector from the door ajar switch, then remove the lock assembly and switch.
Hopefully this will give you the illustrations and instructions you need to get the job done.
Thank You for that information. Here is the wiring schematic for the power door locks on the vehicle and it does show the liftgate circuit. I do not know whether this will help you or not. I have pretty well sent you everything that is available in both databases. The only other option I can think of is that I could try to find a Master Service Manual for you either in book form or on CD.
I did find a Service Technical Bulletin that applies to your vehicle and the liftgate latch. You might want to take a LOOK HERE:
That is all there is in the databases. Hope that helps you a bit.
I guess you got everything you needed?
