98 ranger: rover..car runs..test is taking longer and i have no brakes

i have a 98 ranger rover hse. when i start it the car runs the system check as usual, but the test is taking longer and i have no brakes until after it is over. so i cant just start the vehicle and take off. i have to wait until after the test cycle or i have no brakes. any ideas???

So it's the abs self check then after the system check it's fine ?

yes. after the system check everything is fine. it just seems like the system test is taking longer.

Ok all this is telling you there is air in the system. Having the brakes bled will take care of this issue.Also make sure there are no visible leaks at any of the brake and ABS components . These are the next steps . Hoped this helped. Positive feedback and bonuses greatly appreciated .
